rain,hail and thunder !

Only one dog walk today so far sadly
We have had none stop rain with hail and thunder thrown in.
The rain is washing all the snow off the mountains, the stream in the garden is gushing.

Somedays all one can do is gaze out of the window and watch

stoke up the log burner

warm up some of that scrummy lamb tagine leftover from last night

and wait for the storm to pass

So what weather have you had this weekend ?

  1. My favorite photo is the dogs. Oh, how they want to go outside. Dorje is so sad when it is raining. She just sits on the sofa and pouts. We have a bit of sun peeking through right now so we must run off to our walk.

    2. I checked out the recipe. Sounds good. Problem is, very difficult to find lamb in my area. Even in the larger towns. Although there is quite a bit of lamb raised in Missouri, my guess it is shipped to parts of the U.S. where people demand it. Sorry to say, but it's not an american staple. Most americans have never eaten it. I've only had the chance to try about 3 times. I'm sure it is healthier than beef. SXW

    3. Its not the recipe I use mines just been adapted over time, interesting that its not much eaten over there. Funnily enough there are sheep all over here and yet it is still an expensive cut of meat. Interested to know what would be a popular dish in your household.

    4. That would be 'Surprise':) That is what Gi Gi says a lot when I ask what she is fixing for lunch. It is usually good but different. She likes combining different meats and fish with vegetables into a dish.
Americans eat a lot of beef and pork. We have way to many processed foods now that people eat that probably aren't that healthy. I am diabetic so I must watch my diet closer than most. There is a lot of beef and pork raised on the farms around us. Beef is 3.00 to 7.00 dollars a lb. depending on the cut.

I guess the local meat to me would have to be vennison.
